BSDS 2015 – the ‘Last stop before Paris’ - local regional initiatives

As one of the foremost fora on issues of global sustainability, this top event brings together various national and international delegates from Government, opinion leaders, policy makers and renowned delegates of industry and academia to debate on world important issues: climate change, environmental and energy related issues.

Particular focus will be given to the powerful influence that the European Union, as a political and financing sponsor, can have in creating the proper momentum and drive for the needed change towards sustainable development.

The political-industrial dialogue will as well be organised in a CEO round table - on invitation only. The aim is to help improving European and world legislation,  to sustain and foster sustainable development and growth, while at the same time combatting climate change and promoting social inclusion.

BSDS 2015 will take place on 19 and 20 October in Brussels, as the last in the series of the many sustainability conferences that were organized since the Rio + 20 Conference in June 2012 and dedicated as the prelude to COP 21 in Paris in December 2015.
VITO and TERI wish to draw European and world attention to the Paris conference and to help make COP 21 a historical step forward in achieving a legally binding and universal agreement on actions against climate change.

Since 2012 VITO (Flemish Institute for Technological Research, Belgium) and TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute, India) are  organising the BSDS, a biennial international platform to facilitate the exchange of knowledge on all aspects of sustainable development.
